Welcome to Raising Hearty Boys!

Today is the day! You asked for a place to talk about food and fitness for our boys and here it is!

Raising Hearty Boys Launch

My boys are still young – 6 1/2, 4 1/2, and 11 months old – but it didn’t take long for me to realize that boys need lots of fuel and lots of activity! I’m trying to prepare myself for the grocery bills when I have three teenage boys in the house…yikes!

We are thrilled to introduce to you Raising Hearty Boys {RHB for short}, the newest site from Raising Boys Media! The site was born from questions we heard moms asking often over on our M.O.B. Society {Mothers of Boys} Facebook page:

What do I with all his energy?!

He is ALWAYS hungry – what should I be feeding him?

What sport would be the best for my son?

We’ll do our best to equip you boy moms and dads by answering these questions and more!

Whether you’re raising one boy or ten boys {God bless you!}, we hope this site will bless you in a few ways:

  • Recipes – Our team will sharing boy-tested, parent-approved recipes for every meal of the day, snacks and desserts included. We’ll also be covering various allergen-free recipes with some talented guest posters. There will even be a chance for you to share your boys’ favorite recipes on the last Tuesday of each month!
  • Nutrition – I have picky eaters so I know how hard it is to get boys to eat healthy when all they want is hot dogs and chicken nuggets! We’ll be covering ways to give your boys the nutrients they need, sports nutrition, and making more real food a priority in your kitchen.
  • Fitness – We want to encourage you to take all that energy your boys are currently using to bounce off the walls and channel it for good! Building strong, healthy bodies for our boys doesn’t have to be complicated and it can be a family affair. We’ll be sharing indoor and outdoor activities to do with boys of all ages.
  • Sports – Organized sports activities abound, but which one is best for your boy? How do they get involved? What are the costs and time commitments? We hope to answer these questions for a wide variety of sports with some wonderful guest posts each month. I’m loving the ones we have lined up for you already!
  • Reviews & Giveaways – Look for reviews of our favorite cookbooks, food blogs, fitness & sports equipment, and more!

So much fun to be had here, right?!
